Medical Marketing on Pinterest: The Safest Place to Start Health Care Social Media

LET’S FACE IT, YOU’RE SCARED
Health care companies are not getting involved in Social Media because they’re scared. If you look at the hoops medical marketing directors have to jump through with their legal department, and then combine that with the pressures all marketers face, such as justifying marketing spend, it’s no wonder health care companies have chosen to stay on the sidelines.

SOCIAL LURES MARKETERS WITH MORE LEADS
But wait! Did you know that social media produces almost double the marketing leads of trade shows, telemarketing, direct mail, or PPC (Source: HubSpot)? It’s hard to not have your mouth water at the idea of doubling your leads. Why do we love leads? Because leads can be converted to sales, and everyone can appreciate an increase in sales (especially your boss and the C-Suite).

EVEN MEDICAL DEVICE COMPANIES ARE DOING IT
As Social Media becomes more universal and a basic tenant of business, even medical marketing executives are beginning to be tempted by the business benefits of going social. If you don’t believe me when I say that even medical device companies are embracing social media, just check out this Twitter list with more than one hundred companies involved in social media for medical devices. Allow yourself to be impressed, inspired by their brave step toward social, and reassured that it’s not a completely crazy idea. Don’t let the leaders scare you away either. Use them to light the way forward.

START WITH PINTEREST
Many businesses are finding that it’s possible to engage with patients, customers, and other stakeholders without running into legal problems. If you’re still feeling hesitant, that’s okay. Take one step at a time. Not ready for all of the conversational aspects of Facebook? Try a less conversational network. Here’s where Pinterest comes in.

JOIN THE TOP BRANDS
According to Simply Measured, 69 of the world’s top 100 brands are on Pinterest. Pinterest is driving more traffic to websites and blogs than Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, or YouTube.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO GAIN
You can also gain positive brand exposure when people see pins about your company, the people who work there, and the products and services that are changing lives.
You can teach patients about a new product you are launching so they understand how it works and how it benefits them.
Give patients a look inside your company and what makes your organization great. This is an opportunity for you to humanize your company. After all, your team probably got involved in health care because at least some part of you wanted to make a difference in people’s lives.
Now is your chance to show consumers the side of your company that feels their emotions, shares their desire to find the cure, wants to effectively treat a medical condition, dreams of ending suffering, and will do whatever it takes to save lives.
Driving referral traffic to a website from Pinterest is incredibly valuable for medical marketing. Why? This is a golden opportunity for health care marketers to ride the social wave without getting tangled in the legal complication. You get the benefits of social media: brand exposure and awareness, positive corporate PR, patient education, exposure for new product launches, and referral traffic to your health care website without the risks that are inherent in the more conversational social networks.

LOW RISK INVESTMENT
Pinterest is primarily a visual network. People look at images, share images, pin images, like images, and on occasion, maybe comment on an image. But Pinterest is no Facebook. Facebook is the water cooler where people really start talking about things. When people start talking, legal and regulatory departments get nervous. Breathe a sigh of relief. People don’t usually get too involved in conversations on Pinterest. Many people have probably never commented on a pin in their whole Pinterest history.

PINTEREST IS SOCIAL WITHOUT THE CHATTER
If you’re worried about people talking, start on Pinterest. It’s not a huge drain on resources because it doesn’t require you to monitor and respond to conversations all day. While I would recommend always having a plan in place before starting any social media campaign, I don’t think a detailed response matrix for responding to various situations is necessary like it is on Facebook.

PINTEREST ISN’T THE PLACE FOR AE’s OR OFF LABEL
Posting pictures of patient education materials and other images you already have visible to the public in your existing marketing mediums isn’t likely to elicit lots of comments. This means you aren’t likely to deal with complaints, negative reviews, potential adverse event reports, or off-label discussions. People just don’t use Pinterest in that way.

PINTEREST IS LESS TIME CONSUMING
It doesn’t require as many resources for content creation. You don’t need to post 3-5 carefully crafted messages a day and then be ready to respond to them. As the Marketing Communications Manager, you don’t have to worry about a flood of content you have to oversee for legal risks. Pinterest doesn’t move as fast as the other social networks. You don’t necessarily have to post every day. The work flow is manageable.

YOU ALREADY HAVE PINTEREST CONTENT
You just have to provide your agency with the visual materials you already have and they organize and repurpose the imagery for Pinterest. It’s that easy.
Yes, you, Director of Marketing for a healthcare company. I know you already have Pinterest content, even if you don’t think you do. Chances are, you already have images on your website that can be pinned. I would go as far as to venture that if you really surveyed existing marketing material, you would find a lot of images that can be repurposed for Pinterest. Did you know that you can pin video, too? Pinterest is a great way to get more exposure for your B2B Marketing Videos are Powerful Selling Tools [case studies]" href="http://www.parkerwhite.com/b2b-marketing-videos-are-powerful-selling-tools-case-studies/" target="_blank">medical marketing videos, which can be a great way to showcase your technology and help customers to understand the benefits of your product in an easy-to-understand format.
Still need some Pinspiration? Here’s a list of 40 ideas for Pinterest that can help you get started.

YOU CAN DO IT
I know this is a lot to process, but if you think about it, this is an exciting, low-risk way to enter social media. With the help of an agency, all you have to do is provide some of your existing visual material, and they will do the rest. You don’t have to go through pages and pages of written material with the legal team. You just need a willingness to be open-minded about social media. Once you decide your ready, trust your agency as the social media experts and your legal department as the legal experts. If everybody does their job, you’ll be just fine.

7 Ways to Build On Your Blogging Strengths

7 Ways to Build On Your Blogging Strengths image Blogging Strengths

The other week, I wrote a basic blogging how-to for people who hate to write. Naturally, it begs the question…
For those who love to write (and want to take the quality of their business blogging to the next level), try out these suggestions…
Develop series. Blogging is something most of us do with no end in sight. Personally, I find tasks without a finish line to be rather exhausting, which is why I like to create “series posts.” They alleviate the minor anxiety of having to be creative for an indefinite period of time. With CEM, for example, I’ve done blog series on:
  • Writing tips from great literary authors
  • Advertising and sales tips from the copywriters of the Golden Ad Era
  • Weekly news columns on trending topics like native advertising
Knowing that you have these regular posts up your sleeve makes the creative process easier.
Explore different forms. Do you find yourself always succumbing to the “List of 7 or 9” posts (eh… like this one)? Do you always tell stories? Can you absolutely not write a post without a meme/infographic/video? None of those methods are bad. But, if you want to build your blogging strengths, then you should try exploring different formats.
Encourage user-generated content. Why should you do all the work? Let’s say you sell chalkboards. You might write blog posts about certain chalk art techniques; you may share pictures of chalk art on your boards. But these are all things your audience is passionate about, too. Encourage them to share their images and tips with you; then turn the user-generated content into blog posts.
Solicit guest posts. Speaking of having others do the work, why not put out a call for guest posts? Guest posts give you a chance to stockpile your own blog posts while also bringing a fresh, interesting voice to your blog. Plus, you get to develop relationships with others in your industry.
Don’t write linearly. You use a word processor – not a typewriter. More and more, I find myself starting my blog posts at the end. Or in the middle. But rarely in the beginning. This is another tip that’s not necessarily a “better” approach to writing. However, you might find that it freshens your blogging style.
Design contests. Looking to increase engagement? Then why not build contests around your blog posts? This can be done well and… not-so-well. Do it well.
Connect unlikely topics. Demian Farnworth is one of my favorite bloggers (on the subject of blogging), and he is a master at connecting unlikely topics:
One of the reasons these posts work so well is that Farnworth is able to combine two totally different subjects that are both popular with and important to his audience:
  • The universal (Hunter S. Thompson)
  • The specific (Author Rank)
What business blogging strategies do you use to become a better and more interesting writer?

Social Media IS the 7 P’s of Marketing

Social Media IS the 7 P’s of Marketing image marketing1 300x200

PRODUCT

PLACE

PRICE

PROMOTION

PEOPLE

PROCESSES

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

The 7 P’s of Marketing existed well before the explosion of Social Media and for decades has been taught to Students, Marketers and Business people as the fundamental basics of Marketing, known as the Marketing Mix. For any Marketer or Business knowing your 7 P’s is always a good place to start with Marketing, but as you become more advanced there are so many other theories, elements and concepts involved.

The initial 4 P’s of Marketing is more widely used whereas B2B and International Marketing are more suitable for the use of the 7 P’s. However any business in any industry can use the 7 P’s, but can we apply Social Media to all 7 elements?

PRODUCT
What do your customers think about the product/services you sell to them?
Do you have ideas for a new concept or star product?
Would your customers be willing to pay more for a premium priced product?
Ask them. Co-creation involving your target market at the stages of idea generation and product development can be conducted via Social Media.  Conduct a focus group on a webinar, groups or forums. Run polls on Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Facebook or post videos on You Tube or pictures on Pinterest. Get feedback from the very people who will ultimately buy your goods and include them at the R&D stages.
Co-creation of your PRODUCTS and ideas, all done using Social Media.

PLACE
You don’t need a shop, fancy website or offices to sell to your customers, Social Media can facilitate all of this. Some small businesses find it easier to sell their products by uploading photos to the Business Facebook or Google+ Pages rather than entering complex code into the back end of company websites.
For example my own business website is modest at best, a free page which is very limited so I try to sell using my Social Media sites – and it works. As a recent graduate with a brand new business a new website isn’t in my budget yet so I network on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and forums which has won me new business in my 1st 2 months of trading. All I need is a computer, a phone, sweat equity and my Social Media networks become the PLACE I sell my services.

PRICE
Different Social Media networks have varying demographics which opens up the possibility of charging more or less according to each target segment. High net worth individuals can be targeted to sell at a premium price, whereas lower income earners perhaps could be targeted with discounts or budget ranges.
Co-creation can also be applied using Social Media to help determine the PRICE of your product.

PROMOTION
PROMOTION, this one is easy. You can promote on almost all Social Media sites as long as you know who your market is and what channel they use. Content Marketing and customer engagement are vital when promoting your company, but always remember that Social Media is social where people communicate.
Target your ads and always narrow your target market to as small a segment as possible and always keep the conversation flowing. If you get a like or a comment, respond immediately to engage with real people on a 1:2:1 basis.

PEOPLE
PEOPLE areTHE most important element of any type of business, service or product in any sector anywhere in the world.  Your customers are number 1 so consider them in every choice you ever make for your business and you’ll always do well.
Use Social Media to connect with wider stakeholders to your business such as your local community, competitors, trade associations and public bodies. Employees can be used as an asset when communicating via Social Media but ensure you train them and have a solid social media policy implemented.

PROCESSES
Customer Service PROCESSES can be facilitated on your company Social Media sites.  Respond swiftly to customer complaints and re-tweet, share and post any testimonials or positive feedback. Check all your Social Media sites at least twice daily and regularly conduct searches for key words about your company.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
Walk down any street in any city and you’ll most probably see someone on their mobile phone. Go into any cafe, University or shopping mall where people communicate on their handheld devices. Their world, their PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT is in that device, talking, laughing, crying and sharing their lives on Social Media.
Get into their world, the rise of Mobile advertising targets consumers according to their habits and businesses need to think about how to fit into consumer lifestyles.
Even the old fundamental classic 7 P’s of Marketing can be adapted to incorporate Social Media.  By applying old and new theories and tools, Social Media should be seen to compliment and enhance traditional Marketing.

Social Media Analytics: Sentiment Analysis

I talked a little about sentiment analysis earlier. Sentiment analysis mainly tracks the prevailing
opinion of your brand and it’s most effective for larger brands, especially consumer brands. For smaller brands, there just aren’t enough mentions of your brand to make sentiment analysis very insightful. For small brands, scouring specific websites, such as Yelp, EOpinions, and other places likely provides more insights regarding prevailing opinions about your brand.

Sentiment analysis

Sentiment analysis combines natural language processing with artificial intelligence capability and text analytics to evaluate statements found across various social platforms to determine whether they are positive or negative with respect to a particular brand. A firm might track sentiment analysis over time to:
  • determine whether their actions improve or damage sentiment
  • track brand reputation
  • test how marketing efforts affect attitudes toward the brand
  • attitudes toward new products
For instance, maybe a user posts:
XYZ brand is bad ass!
Sentiment analysis must accurately categorize this as positive sentiment, despite the use of bad in the post. In other words, the tool needs to understand colloquial usage (natural language) to know that bad means good in this context. Artificial intelligence comes in when the tool is “trained”. So, let’s say the tool initially categorized the post as negative because of the word “bad” in the post. A human, as part of the training process, goes in and tells the system they were wrong – this is a positive statement. The tool “learns” that “bad ass” means good and doesn’t make that mistake again – at least not as often.
Now, I could spend several posts showing you how to calculate sentiment using advanced statistics and tuples (don’t ask – they give me a headache), but I assume you just want to use them, not create a tool to analyze sentiment. Hence, I’ll talk about tools already available as a SAAS (software as a service).
There are lots of tools out there for measuring and tracking sentiment. SAS and IBM both make excellent tools, but they’re expensive and a little unwieldy for the novice – designed more for business intelligence specialists. Salesforce.com (marketing cloud), Trackur, Chatterbox, ViralHeat, and Radian6 all have sentiment analysis or include sentiment analysis as a piece of their social media automation. These tools are much more intuitive and user-friendly.
No matter how good, two problems exist with sentiment analysis: 1) training the system and 2) hearing. No tool is able to accurately score sentiment right out of the box and some are easier to train than others. That’s because sentiment is unstructured so the system has to be trained to determine if a particular statement is positive or negative. There’s also the issue of slang, misspelling, and weird sentence structure, which further complicates sentiment analysis. Training can be very time-consuming and tools vary in their ability to be trained, some can’t be trained at all. Across major tools, the industry average is about 65% accuracy – not so good in my opinion.
Hearing is the other problem with sentiment analysis. Some tools only listen to conversations in certain social media, although the ones I listed above listen across Facebook and Twitter and maybe a few other social platforms. Listening to blogs is a little more complicated because the posts are longer. Google Alerts can handle that, but I’ve not found them proficient at detected all conversations going on out there. Still, setting up an alert for your brands, key personnel, and some competitors makes sense. Google Alerts must be hand-scored or use a text analysis program, such as Nvivo or HyperRESEARCH.
A colleague interviewed for this book told the unfortunate story of hiring an intern to cull through the alerts and categorize them on a spreadsheet so the client could respond to unfavorable mentions. Unfortunately, this proved too big a task for the intern or Google. Thus, the client, a pharmaceutical company, was unaware of problems with one of their drugs until contacted by the FDA. Not exactly what the company wanted from their listening program.
Most work fairly similarly, so let’s talk about Trackur, since I have most experience with that platform. Above, you’ll see what one of the dashboards looks like.
Trackur lets you select keywords related to your brand. So, if I were using Trackur to monitor my business, I’d use keywords including my name and company name, if I had brand names, I’d use them, as well as names of key competitors, and industry names such as social media analytics. Trackur will track these keywords, calculated sentiment related to you and your brand, and chart changes in sentiment over time. Trackur has some nice features, in that it also gives you information about users mentioning your brand, thus combining some elements of influence analysis with sentiment analysis.

Using Social Media as a Communication Tool [Infographic]

using social media as a customer communication tool Using Social Media as a Communication Tool [Infographic]     Social media is about more than marketing and branding — it’s quickly becoming an essential part of customer outreach for brands. In addition to using social platforms to monitor conversations about their industry, competitors, and products, companies are increasingly reaching out to to their customers via the social Web to communicate messages about what they have to offer. In fact, social media is transforming the way organizations communicate — the many social tools that are available today are very cost-effective compared to traditional approaches such as email and online advertising. Blog posts and tweets enable businesses to create communities, offer immediate feedback or assistance, and promote their products and services.
A surprising number of companies of all sizes have yet to use social media as a communication tool. Socialcast has compiled an interesting infographic that visualizes data from many sources, including eMarketer, the Center for Marketing at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and Nielsen, about how Fortune 500 companies use social media. The majority of companies studied found social platforms such as blogging, social networking, and online video to be successful. (In March of last year, I shared some data about about how Fortune 100 companies were using social media at the time.)

Here’s a look at why organizations adopt social media, what types of tools have been successful and how important they are for outreach, and some examples of how companies have tapped Facebook, Twitter, and blogging for customer communication:

how to earn money with clixsense

why clixsense? Why it is recommeded?

1- clixsense does not set any limits the amount of ads you click per day
2-clixsense does not set any limits the amount of direct referrals  you can have
3-clixsense was the company that started the ptc craze in 2007
4-clixsense has the lowest advertising rate in the industry
5-clixsense does not charge the ridiculous amount of money to upgrade your account.
6-clixsense has no maximum amount of cashout. You can make it.

what did you observe? You will get unlimited ads to click. There is no condition how many direct referrals you are going to have?In clixsense as a standard member you can keep unlimited direct referrals. Even upgrading cost of clixsense is too low. Which is $17 per year. What is this referral? referrals are the persons who have joined under you. Who is going to work for you. To be honest if you want to earn more money you need referrals. If a site will not allow you to keep  unlimited direct referrals, then how could you promote your referral link.

And it is oldest ptc site, established, and loyal to its members. Then what more you need?
This is the reason why clixsense is the most preferable and trustworthy. It's the completely legit , honest and paying ptc site which i have ever known.

HOW CAN I MAKE MONEY WITH CLIXSENSE?

There are several ways to earn money with clixsense. We can earn money by

1- clicking ads
2- completing tasks
3-completing offers and surveys
4- playing clixgrid
5- daily checklist bonus
6-Affiliate program

The first way to make money with clixsense is just clicking ads. There are unlimited of ads which will be added to your account time to time. Just log into your account click those ads. Unlike other ptc site clixsense has no limitation of ads in a day. You can check it several times in  a day otherwise download their toolbar it will help you to be informed about ad notifications.

KINDS OF ADS

You will get different types of ads to click

                                   1-micro ads

                                   2-mini ads
                                   3-standard ads
                                   4-extended ads
MICRO ADS- if you click micro ads it will take 5 seconds to view and will cause you to earn $0.001 each
MINI ADS- This ads will take 15 seconds to view and you will be paid $0.005 for each
STANDARD ADS- This ad will take 30 seconds to view and you will be paid $0.01 for each
EXTENDED ADS- This ad will take 60 seconds to view and you can earn $ 0.02 for each

So it is clear that you can earn  $0.001 to $0.02 for each ad you click. For better understanding see the screenshot below

pink color- extended ads
green color- standard ads
orange color- mini ads
yellow color- micro ads

Second way to make money with clixsense is completing task. tasks are micro jobs or small jobs provided by crowdflower. There will be number of tasks available for you to complete everyday.
you need to follow certain instruction  before completing a task. Once you completed a task, money will be added to your clixsense account balance. From each task you can earn few cents to several dollars.

Third way to earn money from clixsense is completing offers. Offers are daily surveys,  sign up a particular website, cashback shopping, free downloads. Surveys are available according to the demographic locations. Each survey you complete you can earn $0.30  to several dollars.

fourth way to earn money from clixsense is playing clixgrid

See this picture . This is the clixgrid. Here as a standard member you have the opportunity to click 30 times. But for premium member 60 times. Each time you click it will open a sponsor's website. There you have to view 10 second to know whether your luck support to win the clixgrid or not. You can win upto $10 which will go directly to your clixsense account.

There is no special strategy to win a clixgrid. The secret of winning a clixgrid is to clicking everday. Its a game, the more you play the more chances will be there to win.

Fifth way to earn money from clixsense is through checklist bonus. see below

Here in nov 23 i have clicked ptc ads 4
clixgrid 25 times
visited forum 8
the red cross mark you  have noticed  beside complete task  or offers these are the other requirements to get daily checklist bonus.

So here is the minimum requirements to get daily  checklist bonus

                                                      ptc ad - 2clicks

                                                      clixgrid-15 clicks
either  complete task - 10 or complete offer -2
                                                      visit forum- 1 page
If you have met that requirement in a particular  day  then you will get checklist bonus  $0.50

Sixth way to earn money with clixsense is through its powerful affiliate program

I like the clixsense affiliate program especially the way it designed. Affiliate program means its referral program. When you joined in clixsense you will get  your unique referral link. Now if somebody joined in clixsense by clicking your referral link, then they will be your direct referrals.
you will get commissions each time your direct referral click ptc ads, purchase advertising, completing task or offers. you will only earn commission from direct referrals but not from your direct referral's referral. In clixsense earning of a premium member is substantial higher than the standard member. So, it will be wise if you upgrade your membership to premium.

WHY CLIXSENSE AFFILIATE PROGRAM IS  SO POWERFUL?

It is powerful because the commission you earn from your referrals.

1-COMMISSIONS FROM PTC AD CLICK

Here we can see as a standard member or a premium member  how much commission we can earn from our direct referrals PTC click in different types of ads.

2- SIGN UP BONUS

These sign up bonus is not for standard member.

if you are a premium member of clixsense , then you can earn $0.50 sign up bonus if your direct referral earn $1 from ptc ad click.

3-ADVERTISING SALES

clixsense is the best place to advertise. people want to purchase credit, to advertise their referral link or their website to get traffic. so in two way they can advertise their link. Either they have to purchase ad credit or purchase a clixgrid link. so whenever your direct referrals purchase a ad credit or a clixgrid link then as a standard member you will earn 10% commission upto $1 per referral but as a premium member you can earn commission 10% upto $2 per referral. However there is some limit per referral. As a standard member you can earn upto $50  per referral and as a premium member you can earn $100  per referral.

4- COMMISSIONS FROM TASK

you also get commissions whenever your direct referrals complete the task successfully.  As a standard member you can earn 5% of your direct referrals  task earning and a premium member you can earn10% of your referral's earning.

5-COMMISSIONS FROM OFFERS

In clixsense daily number of offers are available. you also earn commissions whenever your direct referrals complete the offers. As a standard member you can earn  5% of  your direct referral's offers earning and as a premium member you can earn 10%  of their offers earning

why it is wise to upgrade your membership to premium

You can earn money from clixsense as a free member. But you will realize the true power of clixsense when you upgrade your membership into premium status. You will enjoy all the benefit from it once you upgrade your membership. Your earning will substantially grow even without your knowledge your  account balance will reach $100.

here is the benefit

Suppose your direct referral upgrade his membership into premium status you will instantly get $2
as a standard member. But as a premium member not only you will get $2 when your direct referral upgrade his membership but also $1 when your direct referral's referral upgrade into premium status and you will get it upto 8 level's deep. So for better understanding see below

Now you can realize why it is wise to upgrade your membership into premium. You need $17 to upgrade your membership into premium for a year which is very less comparative to other ptc site. See, here i am going to give another screenshot how your money will grow, if you will be a premium membership. suppose you have some direct referrals, your direct referrals have their direct referrals like that it will grow upto 8 levels. see  below. This screenshot is Downline size of a clixsense member who has earned lot of money from his referrals.

not only you will get $2 whenever your direct referrals upgrade their membership but also $1  from each of your direct referral's  referral and their referrals upgrade their membership and it is upto 8 level deep. So, that is what make clixsense unique.

HIGHLIGHT THE BENEFIT OF A PREMIUM MEMBER

                 1- Sign up commissions $0.50

2- commission upto $2 whenever your direct referral purchase ad credit or clixgrid link
                 3-higher direct referral click commissions
4-more chances to win clixgrid (50) times
                 5-more ads available
                 6-8 tier affiliate program
                 7-welcome ad credit 1000
8- minimum cashout $6, but for standard it is $8

PAYMENT PROOF

Payment processor-  You will recieve money through paypal or payza. If you are from india, then you will receive money through paypal only.

read here how to create paypal account

Now in conclusion, i wanna say that because of my offline activity i was not an active member of this site even though i have joined this site several months back. For last two  months i became active in this site and upgraded my membership.  i believe in clixsense because i am earning good money from it comparative to other ptc site. Even you can also earn serious  money from it, once you will be active every single day and upgrade your membership. Upgrading your membership in clixsense will not cost you more. It is very little which is only $17 for one year. But you will get absolute benefit from it. It will bring you more profit. See, you do not have to spend money from your own pocket to upgrade your membership only thing you can do be active in clixsense, everyday click on ads, and complete the offers it will take few days to reach $17 . Once you reach $17 , then upgrade your membership. After that you will realize the true power of clixsense even without your knowledge your account balance will reach $100 within some days. As all we know PTC site is a referral's game. But getting referral's for clixsense is not a difficult thing. After joining this site just create your own blog and write your experience with clixsense and how it works, then promote your blog with your referral link. you can promote your referral link in social network site like facebook  and traffic exchange .

so i encourage you, If you are not a member of clixsense then join today with clixsense.
